why not sew a snake

Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting my girlfriend Chelsea (whom I hadn't seen since college!) and her little girl Hope (who is almost the same age as Graham). A couple of low-key days filled with girly conversation, fun craft projects, good food, and baby bonding was exactly what I needed to refresh + relax. How cozy to be snowed in with a friend and a sewing machine! We wound up getting a jump start on handmade Christmas gifts, dug deep into my pile of fabric scraps--and somehow set out to make these silly stuffed snakes for the kiddos (inspired by a pattern in this cute book). Graham's is the blue/green one. I couldn't seem to stop adding patches! We also made a batch of bean bags and felt flower headbands for Hope--she is such a doll! I'm beginning to think that maybe I need a little girl of my own to stick headbands on...

So cute! What a fun idea to use up scraps.

Oh my goodness! These are adorable! I have a friend at church that loves making stuff like this. I tried out making a few owls and felt food...but didn't go as far to make actual animals from material. I love this idea - if I had more time in my day I would LOVE to make our Christmas gifts. *pouts* Girl time is always a good thing - glad you had a relaxing few days! :) Graham and Hope are soooo adorable!

You DEFINITELY need another girl. And maybe another. And maybe another son, too!!!

But G loves to wear headbands... :) Or scream at us for wanting to play dress up with him! I can't wait to have a little girl to be Auntie to.

@ summer:
not a bit! actually super fast+easy because you can do most of it on your sewing machine. the only part that needs to be hand sewn is a small section of the mouth after you flip him right-side out. it would also make a cute door draft stopper. :)
