spring cleaning

It's no secret that I am a fool for great graphic design. I am the kinda girl who would consider spending $20 on a tube of lip balm just for its cute label (ahem, Kiehl's). I don't know a lot about wines, but I always remember my favorite labels. And I'm 100% guilty of splurging on soap for my kitchen sink, just because it makes my space a little prettier and my chores a little cheerier (see above). Anyone else highly influenced by beautiful branding? Please tell me I am not alone.

I wish I could report that spring cleaning around here is in full swing, but instead I am spending time taking pictures of my cleaning products. I do have one closet tackled, and about 8 rooms to go! If only you could see the volcanic eruption that is my craft desk today.

And speaking of spring cleaning, please don't forget to enter this week's giveaway for a chance to win a pair of Ms. Julie's stylin' gloves.

Today I am feeling so grateful for the free + daily cleaning service God works in my heart. Lately I've been falling so so short, bickering with Jeff, relying on myself, and feeling all-around awful and anxious for absolutely no reason. I am so glad to be reminded that Jesus has covered all of my filth and quiets my heart, so that I am free to shine and live for him...

I just filled that very soap container with clear soap from another bottle because I haven't gotten back to Target to get more! Your post made me smile! Just last night I was out with my daughter and we agreed that sometimes it really is worth a little more for great packaging, especially if it makes you happy when you're doing a dirty job!
Thanks for sharing, Jess!
Blessings!

guilty! The label is what sells me every time! And I do judge a book by its cover! Note to all marketing companies...thats what really gets those of us who don't read reviews!=)

I am with you... A marketing teams dream when it comes to packing and labels! I've been trying to Spring Clean as well and get caught up on the fun stuff too. God is so good... He cleans our slate everyday.

Clean clean clean! It feels SO good when you are done though. And cleaning with pretty products just makes it much appealing.

Thanks for your kind words on my blog as well.

BTW - I adore your banner on top. :)

Darling you are SO not alone. This need I have to make EVERYTHING pretty puts a serious strain on the bank account from time to time. LOVE this soap! Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing doll, and have a wonderful weekend!
PS-the curious george party=PRICELESS!

Umm....so, so guilty. I'm exactly the type of customer they LOVE because I'm such a sucker for a cute package, and not as much for a great product. Lame, but true.

And you're wonderful for being so honest about your funk. I feel that way frequently--lost in petty moments throughout the day, wrapped up in my own selfish world. Once I realize my error, it's so easy to waste time berating myself, rather than simply righting the wrongs by loving others the way He expects me to, and putting away my need to be first. Sigh. Talk about a daily battle. But thankfully He's a pretty gracious and mercifuly guy...even to a selfish girl like me. :)

Thank God for spring cleaning...of the heart and home. :)

I know what you mean. I use Castille soap, vinegar, and baking soda as a rule, but when Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day products go on sale, I grab a few! Love the label and the scents!
