eli's crayon wallet

Hello and happy day! As of 7:00pm I am officially off of work until New Year's Eve. Pretty impressive for a nurse to swing such a schedule, don't you think!? Sweet freedom. It's such a good feeling. Sort of like the good old college days of walking out of your last final. Right now I am in the throngs of laundry, cleaning, errands, packing, and last minute crafting, but just wanted to share a couple quick pics of {part of} our nearly 3-year-old nephew's Christmas gift. This year we went all out with art supplies: easel + roll of paper, paints + brushes, markers, and a crayon wallet for on-the-go:I went out on a limb and sewed this without any sort of pattern--which was pretty much one of the wildest things I did all year. I picked up the mini Sesame Street Christmas coloring book at Target and fashioned the tri-fold wallet based on its proportions. Next time, I plan to measure the crayon pockets more carefully so that it fits more than 7 crayons. ;) Enough on the flaws; I still love how it turned out and the busy city-scape fabric pattern is my favorite part...
Are you Christmas crafting for the tiny tots in your life? If so, please share!

Oh,SO cute Jess! I can now fully appreciate your crafty ways, as I tried my darndest to make an envelope style clutch last week without a pattern. Holy mess. It was a disaster.

How in the world did you pull this off without a pattern?!

It's so sweet. Seven crayons and all. :)

I am! Coordinating aprons for the girls with their initials embroidered on. I made them yesterday while they played around me, totally oblivious :) I love these crayon packs, perfect for church!

Adorable! That is one lucky kid! The only handmades I'm giving this Christmas are jam and two little handknit ornaments for my younger brother-- his goal is to have a Christmas tree completely decorated with handmade ornaments, so every year, I like to help that along.

I just got the paper garland in the mail- it's beautiful! Thank you :)

Such a great idea! So well done (even with the pattern!) I love the mix of the streetscape fabric with the fun polka-dot interior.

I'm a year late but found this on a desperate search for something I could make for my just-two nephew. He'll love this! Hoping I can figure out how to do something similar...

Two years later so chances are the answer is no BUT do you happen to know the name of this fabric or who designs it? It's exactly what I am looking for for my son's big boy room
