cheap thrills

Hello sweet friends. Can you believe it is December? I'm so excited that this season of celebration + reflection on Jesus' coming is here once again. This year I'm wishing for a scaled-back Christmas. We're trying to get back to the basics around here and start some simple traditions that are meaningful for our family and dodge some of the consumerism and hustle+bustle that is, let's face it, consuming our culture. More on my gift mantra soon, but for now, I just wanted to share some of my latest treasures. Confession: I did step into 2 stores on Black Friday. Both were thrift stores with some A-mazing ugly sweater collections, which are fabulous entertainment in-and-of themselves. I digress.

Two and a half bucks later, I found:
a lovely rippled plate with aqua edges
a handful of chipboard Victorian ornaments (the gnome is my favorite!)
one bedazzled felt ornament
and one pretty peach bud vase

Hands down my best Black Friday deals ever.
Don't miss out on this week's giveaway!

You must tell me where you went! (Please?) :) I've been scouring the world for paper or chipboard vintage findings for an Ameile (movie) based collage project I have coming up, but have had no luck in the EC area.

Also...did they have another gnome? :)

As always, I'm completely jealous of your findings!

I love your finds! That looks like something I would pick up. ;) I agree - we are all laying back on Christmas 'consumerism' this year. We finished our Christmas shopping on Black Friday and I got my kiddos some books, plush animals, and learning/preschool books. Merry Christmas sweetie! :)

I love these! I absolutely need to find more thrift stores around where I live!
