Last weekend was perfect for enjoying a little sunshine and summertime at the farmer's market. Shopping here on a Saturday am is slightly less convenient than a quick jaunt to the grocery store, but the rewards are incredible. Fresher food, locally grown, and often for better prices. There's just something so gratifying about handing 2 bucks to the grower himself in exchange for your heap of oh-so-orange carrots. It's all about the experience. A girl can only pack just so much of the fresh + fabulous spread into her canvas market bag. The rest of the punch she must pack into the camera slung 'round her neck and share beyond the realms of her own refrigerator. Here is a taste:
Hot-diggity. We bellied up to the last booth for fresh lemonade and fully loaded brats, then topped it off with a visit to the clown and balloon for the boy.

Love the farmer's market - your pictures are great! I used to head down to the one at the U on Wednesday afternoons when I worked there... and when I worked downtown, the Thursday Nicollet Mall farmer's market was super-awesome and convenient. Now we head to our local FM on Saturdays, or just stop by the farm when we need something! :)

Oh, so jealous of your markets in Minneapolis! Although EC has a pretty great one, there isn't a ton of variety, and I often feel like each vendor is selling the exact same thing, only rearranged differently on the table.
I saw a FM in Boston yesterday that looked positively lovely... :)

Love G's expression when looking at the clown. Our farmer's market is so small compared to yours. Still love finding fresh fruits/veggies, though. Not to mention the flowers!
