this week...

I'm overflowing with gratitude to the truck driver who helped pull our car out of the ditch on Sunday night. Thanking God that we are all safe and sound after our little mishap. We went to visit my parents for the weekend and decided not to make the 2 hr trek home 'til after the Super Bowl, despite the flying snow. Twenty-five miles down the freeway, we hit a patch of glare ice, started fish-tailing as the Blue Danube began to play, and found ourselves spiraling out of control and into the snow-packed ditch. Baby in the backseat and all. Before we could even process what had just happened and call for a tow, a semi had pulled over behind us, and its driver hopped out with a giant chain in hand. That man was a God-send and had us back on the road in less than an hour. G did not even stir. Nothing like a near-death experience to kick off your week. ;)In other news, this fella turned the big 1-0 ten months old today! I can't believe it's time to start planning his 1st birthday bash. This mister is getting to be such a big boy! Crawling with a vengeance, (still) digging through trash cans, standing and walking along furniture, and taking stairs one flight at a time. Insanity.
Poor lil' guy, he just spawned his second batch of teeth (4+4=8!!!) and spent his day curled up with a fever and zero appetite. So instead of his traditional monthly photo shoot in the rocking chair, Mr. Love Bug took a long winter's nap on the couch with my friend Kayt, who stopped by to say hi today. (True confession: As much as I rejoice in his health, a teeny tiny part of me savors his sick days...It's when we get our best snuggle time in.)

So much to do, so little time. Thanks for reading a week's worth of posting all jumbled into one. We are leaving for Spokane tomorrow (can't wait!) and I still need to do laundry, pack, drop valentines in the mail, spiff up the house, and run G to the pediatrician. Wishing I had more time to share some heart day inspiration of my own, but am exponentially more inspired by a little linky love from others anyway:

We cherish a little sicky or teething time too - not just for the snuggles, but for the great naps. :)
