coloring my world

Unpacking my craft room means restoring my sanity this week.
The contents of these boxes are coloring my world.
It's a really happy thing.
I feel like I finally have a space that is genuinely me.Now that my sewing machine is within reach, I really need to address the lack of window treatments around here. We are growing tired of the garbage bags taped over our windows at night! Anyone know of a great, simple curtain pattern? Or have first hand experience with Roman shades? I need a pep talk!Over the weekend, craigslist unearthed the best retro sewing table. I love the blue top, I love the little drawer, I love her great legs. Setting my sewing machine on top of her was just the icing on the cake.

  1. That table is such a great find! What a sweet room. Wish I could help you out more with the curtains but the only curtain I "made" was just a hemmed sheet of fabric attached using little rings on the curtain rod with clamps for holding up the fabric. I know it's not the look for everyone but it definitely works in our pirate-themed bathroom and couldn't have been easier to do.

  5. Aww. I love your taste in design, sweetie! I agree - this sewing table is a great find - the machine IS the icing on the cake! :) My mother has made me quite a few valances over the years...however I know nothing of how she does it. ha ha. She is very good - and has made panels as well. You might google it and check about patterns. My friend from church made her panels for her LR from Pier One Shower Curtains! (she is very creative) lol. Have fun and have a great day!

By any chance, do you have a DIY for those embroidery hoops or a link {if you've already done a post}? I really want to do some for my bedroom.
