hunt & gather

The prettiest place I ever sipped a glass of raspberry lemonade was in my own backyard, on my sweet new retro patio set. I scored all 4 pieces for just $30 yesterday afternoon at Hunt & Gather, the hippest antique store imaginable in S. Minneapolis. The collections here will seriously knock your socks off. Every booth there seems to be extremely well-edited and inspiring.

I always saw myself as more of a rod iron, French-bistro style kinda girl. But lately I find myself gravitating toward these great retro, granny-style items. Watching your own tastes change over time is half the fun, don't you think?

I thought for sure Jeff would hate this quirky set and all its blue floral splendor...But instead he surprised me with an "awesome, thanks!" when I arrived home and we pulled the prize out of the trunk together. And that, my friends, is why I love him and I love sipping lemonade here with him, no matter what decade it is.

so cute! the granny floral makes the whole set. i love that you're letting your style evolve. that's so much better then sticking with something you bought eons ago just because. my style is totally evolving and i agree, it really is half the fun!

That is one awesome retro patio set! And it looks too perfect there on you little patio. Such a find for only $30!
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who's tastes have changed. It is very interesting to me to see what I fall in love with and bring home. It's very different than what it used to be. :)

Love this set! Isn't eating/drinking in your backyard the best once you own?!?!? I could for go eating any where else. The sense of pride and acomplishment. So happy for the 3 of you... Can't wait to see more of your home.

my "decorating styles" change when my living situations changed!
my condo (newly divorced) was the "chick pad" for my college age daughters to visit (along with their own key to the place) - cottage style decorating was refreshing after a marriage with no flowers or pastels!
along comes a new love + marriage = new decorating style... merging two very different styles!! now my condo reflects OUR love of travel, music, gardening & art...
funny how decorating styles change, huh!
hope you'll visit my blog sometime soon - we're blogging from London right now!

greatness! And yes, it is fun to see our own styles evolve. When I was young I used to tell my mom I wanted to have a "modern" house when I grew up. (I was revolting from the "country" complete with various interpretations of farm animals on wallpaper, etc. in our home during the 80s.) I was sure I would have sleek black and white tile floors all over. Now my home is anything but "modern". :) Kelly

I was doing a little blog hunting by pressing the "next blog" button and I ended up here! Never had that happen before where I ended up on a blog of someone I know! =]
