peppermint patty pick me up

I officially had the kind of week that only a pile of the most ultra-delectable homemade peppermint patties and/or Brett Farve can turn back around. Am not even sure where it went wrong, but I am pinning it on the winter doldrums. It may also have had something to do with a few stressful days at work, a biting baby, a craftastrophe, and a mis-communication. I've been a bit of a head case these last few days and it's high time I be getting over myself and honing in on living a more prayerful+grateful life. That about wraps up my pity party. Thanks for stopping by.

As I was saying, these peppermint patties are out of this world. Jeff's parents gave me the Farm Chicks cookbook for Christmas and ever since, I've been all over its recipes and pretty pages...But the peppermint patties, my friends, take the cake. Minty buttercream sandwiched by two perfect chocolate cookies, dipped in {more} milk chocolate. Supreme. And for those of you who don't know the Farm Chicks, get to know them. They are homegrown godesses of fine frugal living who made antiquing hip again. And as a side note, they are from Spokane WA--which, in my book, makes Spokane a 10x cooler place. Am getting pretty pumped about seeing our fam+friends there in February.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad week, but it sounds like you've got a plan for turning it around. Honing in on the positive & chocolate cookies dipped in more chocolate are always a good way to get back on track...Hope this week is better for you!

Good for you for recognizing that you need prayer and a grateful heart in the midst of a crappy week! Oh, and chocolate! Those peppermint patties look like they could turn anyone's tough week around! Keep counting your blessings. You'll be surprised how quickly they add up!

Oh yes, The Farm Chicks....big fan myself. I have that cookbook on my little shelf in the kitchen but I haven't made that recipe yet. Have you tried the pumpkin waffles? Those put regular waffles to shame! Sorry you were having the doldrums...I am about to, we woke up to way too much snow this morning. Yuck. So you are headed this way in Feb? Chelle is in Hawaii now and was hoping to not miss your visit! Hopefully we can still snag you for coffee when you are here! And if you can ever manage it you will have to head this way for The Farm Chicks Antique show every June! It is seriously drool worthy!
