a cozy challenge

Spied these cozy sweater throw pillows in my fall West Elm. My heart instantly melted...they're the definition of homey comfort. And as I sat craving them for my couch, the DIY alarm sounded in my head:

Ladies, let us hit the thrift stores and dig through our closets, find some forlorn old sweaters, dust off our sewing machines, and have our very own sweater pillows to cozy up our couches by October. I bet we can make something equally enticing and for even less money. Are you in?

Oh my goodness! I have this big fluffy wool sweater from high school that I will never wear again, but don't have the heart to get rid of bc it's so snuggly. This is a PERFECT idea. I'm going to pull it out tonight.

Those are gorgeous! I love them. I definitely have some sweaters that I could donate to the cozy pillow fund!

The pillows are adorable..love the buttons! I am not a sewer but these would make fantastic editions to an Etsy shop of someone who is! Your blog is great--found you from a link from a field guide blog roll. :-)
