I have a theory that Jeff purposely leaves exactly two bananas from every bunch brought home from the grocery store atop the fridge to grow mushy and brown. Why? Because if you know Jeff, you know that he's a Curious-George-Monkey-loving kind of guy, and even more than he loves monkeys and bananas, he loves banana bread. It just so happens that my handy-dandy banana bread recipe calls for exactly 2 raunchy-ripe bananas.
It also just so happens that I made some cute pale blue little labels for my baking ingredients this weekend and lined my glass jars on the kitchen counter. Since then, they've been inviting me to dig in and bake something. Furthermore, I've been extra eager for excuses to plug in and play with my fancy new Kitchen Aid mixer (Christmas was kind!)...
The effect: An exquisite smelling freshly baked loaf of banana bread cooling as we speak:

um, you left out the picture of the best part- the mixer? is it just white? i bet it is. you may have told me that already. i really wanted a metallic one- oh well- happy to have one period. and your labels are really cute.
The labels are way cute and the bread looks yummt!
Ha ha, I just stumbled upon you site and I had to chuckle. My husband mysteriously does the very same thing. Always the last two bananas because that is what my recipe calls for too:) Maybe all men really do think alike!
do we get the recipe, too? The jars look great! I wish I had more counter space to do that - I'd probably bake even more then!
so I am assuming that banana bread is probably complete ly gone by now. I love banana bread with chocolate chips in it!

I love the labels you put on the glass canisters. Who knew that something so simple can make an everyday item look so much more elegant! Great touch! BTW, your posts are so sweet and thoughtful. . .
Just found your blog. Super cute! Question: Where did you get those large glass jars and can you fit a whole bag of flour in one. (The regular sized bag that you get at the grocery store.)
