And while I'd like to tell you that I hostessed this outdoor soiree by our hypothetical pool this weekend, I must admit it turned out to be a rather low-key Labor Day at home. Allow me a paragraph to complain: Our plans fell through and Jeff ended up working. Drag. Our schedules have been so opposite lately and it stinks. Sometimes I wish we could both have standard 9-5, M-F jobs with holidays free, but it's just not in the cards right now. I have to remember: I love working just 3 days/nights per week!
I have had a chance to catch up a bit today: Found some great new magazines at the laundromat (and did some laundry too). Took a trip to Target, which left me pining for the days of back-to-school shopping. What I wouldn't give to be back in 4th grade, picking out some bright new Crayolas & a back pack. Or maybe even back in the dorm--with matchy-matchy crates, sheets, bulletin board & rug. They have such cute stuff luring my eyes in every aisle. Wait, no, I don't really miss the dorm. ;) Hit a few Labor Day sales and then came home to make a big bowl of my favorite pasta salad + bake some cookies. Yeah, it was a pretty good day indeed.

I was feeling nostalgic for the dorm and move-in chaos this weekend, too. I have a sick obsession with unpacking boxes and finding new homes for all the little things. My sister and her friends were all going through it and I was really jealous, but I got to do a little setting up in my classroom, so that helped me through it :) I'm sorry your plans fell through, but Target sometimes helps soothe the pain. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and introducing yourself. You have a fun and readable blog here yourself. Looking at your previous post, I'm a bit of a scrabble nut myself, but can't always find others who are so inclined. I do play a lot of Boggle with my Mom and a couple of friends though -- at least a couple of times a month. A little Boggle, a little wine, and always lots of laughter and silliness. Such fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous spread!
ReplyDeleteWe were pretty low-key, too. Sorry your plans didn't work out, but catch-up time is sometimes a good thing.
ReplyDeleteBummer on the Labor Day plans - that happens to us a lot with Chris' job. I miss back to school shopping too! Autumn is my absolute favorite season.
